Subject: thoughts while reading Gospel of Thomas

Western thought loves its dualisms, psyche and pneuma, material world and Plato's world of pure form, creation and Creator, individual and collective.
You have detoured too far into Eastern thought, seen the Zen of it all, to return and ever be able to fully embrace Western dualism again.
"When you are in the light, what will you do? On the day when you were one, you became two. But when you become two, what will you do?" Gospel of Thomas 11
I take Jesus here to mean once you experience the Unity, the Monad, the interbeing of All, you then return to dualistic thought and it is now confusing.
"When you make the two into one...then you will enter [the kingdom]." Gospel of Thomas 22
The dualisms need to vanish, as they were in your Gnostic experience of Unity. But how?
"How miserable is the body that depends on a body, and how miserable is the soul that depends on these two." Gospel of Thomas 87
It is miserable for you to be chained in the confines of dualistic thought now. You know something is beyond the body, beyond the physical, but getting beyond imposed a dualism, a dualism that is now holding back the kingdom.
"When you make the two into one, you will become children of Adam, and when you say, 'Mountain, move from here!' it will move." Gospel of Thomas 106
If you want to become "Son of Man" as Seth was son of Adam, to truly be a Sethian, the illusions of dualisms must vanish, this great mountain of how you've viewed reality must move out of your vision.

Indeed the ideal for the conditioned. Yet do not give the West all the credit, though indeed the West has the lion's share {8-)

Is it that they have Seen The Light then turned away from it, or that due to their conditioned condition they could only get a Glimpse and knew not how to sustain it? Or only Imagined that they saw it in the first place? While still self-oriented any so called experience is tainted by personal-self and self-interests. And to fall back into the Flow of Duality is the course of least resistance, for the seeming NonDual experience was tainted by a Dualistic perception from the start.

It would indeed be confusing. But surely Jesus knew that once one Truly Directly Experiences The Light, one's True Self, the Oneness or Unity of the multiplicity of form, the True selfless NonDuality that Reality IS, one could never actually "return" to Dualism. Once that Door is Opened one can not get it Closed all the way ever again. Thus it seems that he was not talking about any "return" but rather the difference between when you came into this incarnation and when you became a conditioned programmed controlled manipulated robot. When you were your True Self, Awake, unencumbered by personal-self, totally selfless, UnDualistic, until you were say one year old, what did you do? In Awe and Wonder you Embraced the Unknown to Directly Experience all that there was to Directly Experience by Responding to What-IS Unconditionally. "Be as little children" Jesus said. When you became two, when you acquired a Dualistic and self-interest perception, as you became conditioned and selfish, when you Fell From Grace, what did you do? You thought, "well this feels good so okay." Only as you get older do you say "oups" and go Seeking for the Truth.

Yes when the Dualistic perception changes to a NonDualistic Apperception THEN you will Remember that you are already Awake though you Forgot due to all the conditioning..

Yes Duality is very limiting and keeps us chained to our Suffering. It keeps us living in the past or future and prevents Present Moment Presence because there is a personal-self/other still present. So all one has to do is get rid of the Dualistic personal-self/other perception and realign to a NonDualistic Present Moment Apperception. Simple {8-)

Yes that is the mountain you can move with the faith the size of a mustard seed, Duality. Duality is so fragile that it can be dispensed with without any effort. Duality is actually an oxymoron in itself, in that the Totality of manifested form, regardless of its shape and size, is just a bunch of atoms. All existence known and unknown is atomic. Thus All is One, basically. This is only one fallacy of Dualism, there are many. The self/other always needs verification of that belief, always grasping for proof that self/other exists. IF it were True then it would need no verification, but since it is false there must be constant verification. Once NonDualistic it is quite obvious so it needs no further verification.

The Key {8-) If you want to me smart you learn something new everyday, but if you want to be Wise you unlearn something each day {8-) The more you know the dumber you seem to be {8-)
