From: "E.J." <ejLight@Light-Mission.org> Date: Wed, 02 Dec 2009 06:54:14 -0800
Gifts That Don't Cost A Cent:
THE GIFT OF LISTENING - But you must really listen. No interrupting, no daydreaming, no planning your responses, no second-guessing. Just listen.
THE GIFT OF AFFECTION - Be generous with appropriate hugs, kisses, and pats on the back. Let these small actions demonstrate the love you have for your family and dose friends.
THE GIFT OF LAUGHTER - Clip and share cartoons and funny stories. Your gift will say, "I love to laugh with you."
THE GIFT OF A WRITTEN NOTE - It can be a simple "Thanks for the help" note or a full sonnet. A brief, handwritten note may be remembered for a lifetime, and may even change a life.
THE GIFT OF A COMPLIMENT - A simple and sincere, "You look great in red," "You did a super job," or "That was wonderful," can make someone's day.
THE GIFT OF A FAVOR - Every day, go out of your way to do something kind.
THE GIFT OF SOLITUDE - There are times when you want nothing more than to be left alone. Be sensitive to that same need in others and give the gift of solitude when it seems needed.
THE GIFT OF A CHEERFUL DISPOSITION - The easiest way to feel good is to offer a kind word to someone. Really, just a cheery "Hello," or "How are you?" can go a long way.

"Man becomes what he believes himself to be. Abandon all ideas about yourself and you will find yourself to be the pure witness, beyond all that can happen to the body or the mind.
"If the seeker is earnest, the light can be given. The light is for all and always there, but the seekers are few, and among those few, those who are ready are very rare. Ripeness of heart and mind is indispensable."

As Namaste is to say *may the Divine Essence AS me Embrace the Divine Essence AS you as a Divine Essence of One*, so too Metta is to say *may the Loving Kindness AS me Embrace the Loving Kindness AS you as Loving Kindness of One*, so too Zikr is to say *may the Self Remembering AS me Embrace the Self Remembering AS you as a Self Remembrance of One*. So *may the True Nature AS me Embrace the True Nature AS you as a True Nature of One*. It is in the Inner Embracing of each other that we Realize that we are all cut from the same bolt of cloth yet most do not Realize it yet.

Have a Happy New Year Folks,
As the countdown continues to the New Year everyone has their own way of embracing this transitional time. Though the New Year falls on different days depending on one's background, it is a time of reflection and resolutions. A kind of discarding of the Old and embracing the New. As the last day of this year and the first day of the next year approaches it is time to wish you all a Wonderful Walk along the Way. May efforts along the Path bring forth fruit, and may we go beyond our so called 'personal space' and penetrate further into the world community. It is in understanding each others differences that we Realize that we are all the same.
May there be more Compassion, Wisdom, Understanding and Peace! AS Silence we Hear, AS Void we See, AS Awakening we ARE - BE Well and Mindful Wonderful Friends - Namaste, Metta, Zikr -- ej
