There is an on line petition happening in BC. If anyone is interested or lives in BC and wants to sign it. If all their cut backs work, there will be two classes of people, the rich and the unemployed. None with medical, or financial assistance. If they can get the required amounts of names, they will be forced to call a re-election. It's funny, during the last election the Liberal won hands down, with all kinds of policies and promises, and now, all those who voted or them are in a petition to get them out. If anyone knows about the Fraser Institute, these are the brains behind the Liberals.
I dunno, Life today in the fast lane.

It occurred to me, whist doing the latest slushy shovelling, that the world just isn't physically active enough these days. There isn't much call for the chop wood, carry water thing. In warmer climates where there appears to be so much unrest, boils down to a lack of just doing. People have to much time to think and live out of the present moment. I dunno, but if everyone had to shovel more, and think less, what the neighbour does or believes wouldn't really matter. So, I wish everyone five feet of snow, for three months of the year. ha ha ha.

Greetings Sharlene, you wrote: ->It occurred to me, whist doing the latest slushy shovelling, that the world ->just isn't physically active enough these days. ->There isn't much call for the chop wood, carry water thing.
This is obviously so, as the health/fitness centers seem to be doing a booming business more all the time. Everyday life offers plenty of activities without having to rely on the fitness centers. You mentioned one of them, but if we look at our daily lives I am sure that a lot of natural activities could be seen. We have grown lazy these days with technology continuing to pamper us and give us the cheap thrill and instant gratification. We take the elevator or escalators rather than the stairs, we get a snow blower or a plow on the front of our truck rather than pick up a shovel, we install a sprinkler system to water our lawn rather than pick up a hose, we buy microwave food rather than cook from scratch, and automatic dishwashers rather than draw a sink full of water. We drive a couple of blocks rather than walk it. We hide from a world we have grown to dislike, though we are the ones who established that world, and cling to our conditioned notion that someone (or something) will Save us. Perhaps from ourselves.
->In warmer climates where there appears to be so much unrest, boils down to ->a lack of just doing. People have to much time to think and live out of the ->present moment.
Indeed too much thought, yet controlled manipulated programmed conditioned thought which lends to greed and corruption and conflict and war and Suffering. Yes, it seems, nothing much to do but sit around thinking up ways to cheat or beat another out of something. Which, as you said, is other than Present Moment Apperception AS What-IS. More like the dwelling on What-ISNOT.
->I dunno, but if everyone had to shovel more, and think less, what the ->neighbour does or believes wouldn't really matter.
Yes, we must shovel the conditioned crap out of our mind. And after we scoop up those last conditioned notions we Realize that we are all just multiple aspects of the same existence. Thus, doing what must be done it matters little what any given person is doing nor would their particularities for we are in Essence all One Consciousness Evolving/Involving.
->So, I wish everyone five feet of snow, for three months of the year. ha ha ha.
How gracious of you to offer such a Blessing, though it is preferred from here to marvel at the Wondrous Majesty of the mountain in her winter dress. Wearing her snow white crown and tan/brown/green robe, it is most Beautiful sitting at her feet in awe and Walk with her a spell. Her magnetism draws Wonders to her bosom that are spellbinding and thus most Present. There is still wood to chop and seeds to plant and pathways yet untrodden to walk and even run. And even stones to throw or streams to swim across and trees to climb.
->As if...............
As if..... a child unincumbered with petty thought -- "as a man thinketh, so is he". So, not thinking, the child IS the Mountain.

> This is obviously so, as the health/fitness centers seem to be doing a >booming business more all the time.
Ah, but fitness centers are for many, ego centers. When the weather got to cold, I attended a gym, and watched in amazement at the amount of mirrors were used, not just checking for the correct posture, but to gaze upon ones own body with great delight. It was a riot.
> Everyday life offers plenty of >activities without having to rely on the fitness centers. You mentioned >one of them, but if we look at our daily lives I am sure that a lot of >natural activities could be seen.
Live in the north and there are many things to do just for ones survival. Then there are also apartment blocks where they do nothing, as per normal. Then look and see where most problems lie, where there is no focus.
> We have grown lazy these days with >technology continuing to pamper us and give us the cheap thrill and instant >gratification.
Yet it is short lived gratification. Where there is no enough.
> We take the elevator or escalators rather than the stairs,
Many stairs are hidden these days. Why?
>we get a snow blower or a plow on the front of our truck rather than pick >up a shovel,
How I wish, just kidding, I learned how to use a snow blower, but prefer the shovel. Then again, if we got 2 feet at once, I would surely use it. Today I helped my daughter with hers as well. The snow has turned to rain and winter flooding from frozen ground is about to happen. So shovelling for drainage is not unusual.
>we buy microwave food rather than cook from scratch,
I keep looking for scratch but can never find it. Just kidding. With my allergy to nickel, I have no choice other than to do my own meals. But is that not also a part of the survival thing...
>and >automatic dishwashers rather than draw a sink full of water.
Not in this house. Lots of hot water here though.
> We drive a >couple of blocks rather than walk it.
True enough. One of our blocks equal ten city ones. And I'm not from Texas. ha. Never mind, blame it on the snow.
> We hide from a world we have grown >to dislike, though we are the ones who established that world, and cling to >our conditioned notion that someone (or something) will Save us. Perhaps >from ourselves.
Save us from our government, please.
> Indeed too much thought, yet controlled manipulated programmed >conditioned thought which lends to greed and corruption and conflict and >war and Suffering.
Yes, with the TV blaring all day long, what other choice is there? Oh, by the way, speaking of TV, there is a program tonight about the Twin Towers collapsing from the engineers point. I forget the channel.
>->So, I wish everyone five feet of snow, for three months of the year. ha >ha ha. > How gracious of you to offer such a Blessing, though it is preferred >from here to marvel at the Wondrous Majesty of the mountain in her winter >dress.
Hey now, how many take the time to witness the beauty of what is, without it staring them in the face, or shovel? ha.
> Wearing her snow white crown and tan/brown/green robe, it is most >Beautiful sitting at her feet in awe and Walk with her a spell.
Green? What is green in this white winter land? The rain has knocked the snow off the trees and it is green. Tall cedar boughs bending from the weight of the moisture, proud spruce, hemlock and pine, giving freely of it's clean air. What could be better than that? Second thought about the pines, rumor has it that they pollute more than clean. They give off the gases that are also found in turpentine. Which, is made from? ya, you guessed it, the lovely pine tree.
> Her >magnetism draws Wonders to her bosom that are spellbinding and thus most >Present. There is still wood to chop and seeds to plant and pathways yet >untrodden to walk and even run. And even stones to throw or streams to >swim across and trees to climb.
And mushrooms to pick. Ahhh, tis a wonderful world.
>->As if............... > > As if..... a child unincumbered with petty thought -- "as a man >thinketh, so is he". So, not thinking, the child IS the Mountain.
Just ask them, they will tell you every minute they are something else. One minute a dancer, the next they are a puppy and one of the worlds best artists. Who can ask for more?
And fresh ground coffee...........I am definitely in bliss.

Ray just does what needs to be done, what must be done, and most likely gives it no further thought. Ray is always off in the Ozone anyway, and most likely does not even know he is doing it. It just must be done. When I give him news that what he does is appreciated he just stares at me all blank like I am a stranger in his midst. It seems that he is a stranger in his own midst.
Thanks for dropping in Dear Friend.

Greetings Community,
On the so called Spiritual Quest there seems to be seekers and there seems to be seekers. Those who ardently seek for that which continually eludes them and those who half-heartedly seek for that which they could never find, nor want to find. Some seek because they want answers and others seek because of the conditioned notion of following the herd. Answers can be found but do not satisfy the Quest because answers are but Pointers, and there is no closure with the Quest of the herd because the motivation is the herd and not the Quest. In both cases the seeker is totally convinced that they on THE path and salvation is their reward. And they justify their position by "all paths lead to god". They say the conditioned modus operandi as "human nature". They say that this Kali Yuga is the "Age of Enlightenment", as there seems to be an overwhelming interest in the Quest. They see visions and communicate with beings and non-beings of varying dimensions who give them the answers they seek and thus offer salvation.
Is there Progress along The Path without Work ? Is there Freedom without letting go ? Is the Present Moment Apperception a Dualistic perception ? For what do we Really seek ?

For the first time in ages, I sat glued to the TV morning news. It appears that many things are heading towards closure in some sense of the word. In Vancouver, since 1985, at least 50 women have been reported as missing. Vanished without a trace. Yesterday, the RCMP, with a warrant for firearms, made a gruesome discovery. They returned with another warrant, of an undisclosed nature. Today two farms in Port Coquitlam, a suburb of Vancouver, were totally surrounded by a high steel fence. Last night was spent with the RCMP notifying all the families of the missing women, that this investigation is now underway. They also have, Ridgeway ( I think his name is)as one of the prime suspects. Who was also involved with the Green River murders in the USA. Also was an interesting program about child pornography and the internet. At least five other countries are now involved. This branched into the sexual assault part of it all. They figure that with the new terminology, it lessens the impact of the reality. No longer do they use words like rape, sodomy and frottage. (sp) Sexual assault are all of those things and more. They also mentioned that many think these tapes that are for sale are animated and not reality. The majority of them are real children, suffering real pain, while romantic music plays in the background. My heart felt sick for those children. This program, coincided with my volunteer work of the last three days, preparing an information booklet on sexual assault for an up and coming workshop for Big Brothers and Sisters. All apart of what is, in this moment. Shar

ray,

is there then any point in Seeking?... for one 'kamp' wot they seek eludes them, for the 'half-hearted' - they kan never find nor wud they want to...
>Some seek because they want answers and others seek because of the conditioned notion of following the herd. Answers can be found but do not satisfy the Quest because answers are but Pointers, and there is no closure with the Quest of the herd because the motivation is the herd and not the Quest.<
well put, ray... if i am with the herd then there is no knead for me to follow this thread... if i am not with the herd then i have only my selph to follow bekuz aside from my selph there IS a Selph that i follow & all of the Pointers point to that, dexter... all road lead to Home - not Rome - jest me & my mocha in starbucks on 4th & Main - as in chow...
as for salvation 'being' a reward - que-ce que ce - a reward - as in drinking my face from the river with the 'other' kows?... nay, nay, nay, monsieur light, i have an other source of water - the snowpack that feeds the kreek that feeds the river that feeds the ocean that feeds the blood in my 'vains'... in the unkonditioned part of me, ray, i drink from the source, as we all do... to sum life is more vibrant & vivid, to others it may be dull... to me it is sumwhere in the middle bekuz i encompass both perspektives - i am both - the doer & the dun - i have a navel like everyone else & like everyone else, i listen to my own counsel, unless sum flaw in me knows that i should seek counseil elsewhere bekuz my own counsel is flawed... mayhaps...
essentially, ray, like popeye, i yam wot i yam & that's all that i yam & until sum katastrophe nudges me sumwhere else, i will kontinue being as i am - tho on the lookout for pointers - & basikally put one foot in front of the other... eventually i will get where i'm going to - tho in a sense, i am already there - two life times removed... to bekum what one IS...
in my kase - an anachronism who kan still dig the future - as Telus klaims in their ad campaign: the phuture is phriendly...
i knead now to put on shades, stoke up the pipe & warm my paws on the sides of a kup of koko...

*smiling* for me letting go is the biggest step~~~ letting go of the past letting go of others and letting go of fear . then looking at myself ( always in that process!!!!!!) then I can be my self~~ celebrate being myself ~~ I can see what your are saying by looking for the answers~~ because I too looked for answers ~~ saying well why don't you just tell me how to do this and where to go~~ * laughing* but have found that in my experiencing the answer within my own question~~ and yes by those friends pointing the direction ( as I was blind too at the time) ~~ don't know if I am explaining it well. I liken it to a seed that has been planted in the ground~~ first it grows roots ( something we do not see) then it pushes through the earth ( a traumatic experience) then it sprouts and reaches for the sun ) and grows leaves in its beginning then it grows a bud ~~ and like the person who planted it who waits to see the bud open ~~ we wait to open then one day its has opened. always always needed nourishment and grows larger and produces more buds. does this make sense? Sometimes I feel like a ball in a pinball machine, alway heading for contact with some new lit up form of truth, just to then bounce off of it and then be headed to some other lit up form of truth. Bing bong buzz bip. Sometimes I wish the player would tilt the machine instead of hitting me back time and time again with the flippers of birth. If I'm here to learn, what is it that I'm suppose to be gathering? I restart my Spiritual Quest daily and make a little progress before I'm off in a different direction again. Is this normal?
